Day off

So we went to have breakfast at the Polynesian Resort and took a lovely boat ride across the lagoon to get there.  Breakfast was awesome.  We then went to the New Orleans themed resort and took another boat to Disney Springs.  We saw all sorts of lovely things...

But I forgot to put the darned card back in my camera.  I took loads of photos of nothing...grrr

Went back to our resort.  I did laundry while Christi napped. Now, you think this isn't too cool, but check this out

This is a website hooked up to the laundry room.  That dryer there had my clothes in it.  I could go back to my room, do stuff, and watch the time left on the dryer (or washer).  Pretty coooool.

Then we went to dinner at my brother's house here in Orlando where my sister is staying with her family.

Where Adam played grillmaster...

I checked out all the nice work he did on his house and had our first photo taken together since we were kids I think.

Tomorrow the Magic Kingdom!

Hanging around the resorts

We had tea a the Grand Floridian (where there was an awesome Easter Egg display), then walked around a couple of the other resorts.

Another Harry Potter Day

Ok, second day in the park was FREEZING cold!  OK, maybe around 50 degrees at 8am, but that's pretty cold for a couple of chicks who brought clothes for Florida.  So, we bundled up as best we could and headed to Universal. We totally opted to cough up double money for Valet parking.  We were still sore from the day before, especially my ankle.

This time, we went to Islands of Adventure first.  The wait for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey was already about 45 minutes long, but you wandered through Hogwarts the whole way...so it was pretty cool.  In retrospect, I'd have to say, this was my favorite ride.  You got chased by dragons and dementors while following Harry and (sometimes) Ron on their brooms.

We were starving when we got done, so we had a yummy breakfast at the Three Broomsticks.  Afterwards, it was a crowded madhouse, so we ditched the idea of doing the Hippogriff ride and headed toward Jurassic Park.

This is the view from Jurassic Park across to Seuss Land.  We also ended up there and did the fun Cat in the Hat ride.

Christi and Marmaduke

Popeye statue

and...yeah...

There was a whole superhero area and you could meet the characters.  Then, they rode off on motorcycles...or tried to.  Spiderman's bike wouldn't start for a bit.

We then took the Hogwart's Express back to Diagon Alley

We had dinner at the Leaky Caldron.  We then got in the 90 minute line for the Escape from Gringotts, which ended up being 2 hours because the ride had a bit of a breakdown.  The inside bit of the walking to the ride was cool, but this ride wasn't as cool as the one in Hogsmeade...even if it was 3D.  When we got out, it was dark.  Diagon Alley is cool after dark.

The dragon on top of Gringotts breathes fire intermittently.

He's really cool...

This is Olivanders...

And the Knight Bus.  Less kids, more fun.  Expensive Harry Potter souvenirs were purchased (not including the previously purchased wands) and we headed on our sore feet to the valet parking.

That all was Soooooo Much Fun!
