Happy Labor Day!

Sorry not much to report today and no photos at all. 

Got up early, made bacon and eggs for breakfast.  Christi's brother and family came to visit and we went to the beach for a couple of hours. 

Had a yummy lunch of Mexican food (I had a fish taco and a shrimp taco) with a large margarita, courtesy of Christi's brother.  They came back to the condo for a bit and chatted, then headed back home.

Christi and I decided to hit a vintage shop and a thrift store, both horribly disappointing.  Went to Wallyworld as I forgot dental floss and was running out of toothpaste. 

Came home and had apple pie and ice cream for dinner.

That's pretty much it. 

Tomorrow we head north to Anaheim and Disneyland.  We are taking the scenic route along the coast, so I will likely have more photos. 

San Diego Again

Yeah, I know, I didn't mention here that I was planning another trip.  This is another one with Christi, because this is really her trip and I am along for the ride.  She's from around here and we do spend time with her family and some of her friends while here.

We got in yesterday, had dinner at her father's place (some lovely halibut that he and his wife caught while on vacation in Alaska) and got to our rental pretty late.  Also, we almost melted as our rental condo was closed up and has no AC, which is pretty common for this area as it generally doesn't get too hot.  Windows open, fans placed strategically, and we got to sleep.

This morning was brunch with step-mom and dad, then off to the zoo!   So, I'm throwing a bunch of zoo pics at you...have fun!

A lot of the animals were sleeping in their caves or indoor areas because it was so hot and sunny today...so no koalas or red pandas.  Also, as you can probably tell, we spent a lot of time in the shady reptile enclosures. 

Not much else happened...did grocery shopping and headed back to our rental.  I desperately need to shower to wash off the sunscreen.  Later 'gators!
