Sorry I haven't written anything yet during this trip, but we've been going going going the entire time. Today was a travel day, so I don't have many photos (which I will need to steal from Christi as I took ZERO photos today), and I'd better do some writing!
It was an early day as we had to be at the train station by 8:00am Made it without incident, although it was like getting back on an airplane. Customs, x-rays, etc... although there was the added bonus of a small Belgian chocolate Easter egg as we arrived at the station.
Found our car, found our seats, parked there for two hours racing through the countryside from Brussels, to Lille, to Calais, and...finally...London. Checked luggage into storage, had breakfast in St. Pancras in a pub (I had porridge, Christi had eggs benedict), then headed to King's Cross to see Platform 9 3/4 and the Harry Potter shop (photos coming soon when I steal them from Christi).
We walked around a bit, back to the pub for a beer for Christi and a tea for me, then picked up luggage and got a bit ripped off by a London cabbie (expectedly) who took us the long way to our rental.
We are staying in the narrowest house in London, on Peel St. in Notting Hill. The house is only 7 feet wide and has 3 floors. Christi has the bedroom on the ground floor, I get to climb 2 flights of narrow stairs for mine. I did get a bathtub, which I fully plan to take advantage of.
We've been mellowing out awhile in our rooms and I think Christi fell asleep. I need food so I may wake her up. Updates later.
Update: I'll get the photos from her later. We went to a corner shop, got food, came home, ate, vegged out, and I'm now in my private room catching up with adding stories to my older posts. So, if you saw the photos, keep checking back for the commentary.
