Happy Thanksgiving From Austria

So I did end up waking up pretty early this morning.  I went to bed around 9 last night so getting up at 6 was no problem.   Accomplished grocery shopping last night so I had a leisurely breakfast and shower in the teeny tiny shower in the hot bathroom (it is always boiling hot in there).

I headed out to the Naschmarkt, which is not a Christmas market, but my favorite place in all of Vienna.  The vendors all try to get you to try their wares, from fruits to nuts to cheese.

But nobody offered me blue, pink, or green cheese.

I did notice that the Holidays had made their mark here as well

as the advent wreaths were for sale everywhere.  I wish I could bring one home, but they're not very travel friendly.

I went to visit my favorite building, the Majolica House.  Pretty, right?

Decided to head off to my first Christmas Market and decided to go to the Christmas Village at Maria-Theresien-Platz.

This is the entrance from Museum Platz.  I went in and walked around a bit.  This one seemed to be about a half and half food to arts and crafts.  It was kind of small and homey.  I decided to check out the food!

My first gluhwein and a baked potato for lunch.  Cheese, corn, and chive sauce.  Yummo!

And here is a nod to the crafty half...

I was heading out to find another market and came across

Missed it, but he's still touring?  Holey crap!

I ended up heading back to the apartment, had a snack, and chilled for a bit.

Then, out to Art Advent at Karlsplatz...which is 5 minutes away. I'll finish this later and tell you all about kiachl mit sauerkraut because it's late and I have an early day tomorrow...going to Salzburg
