Austria Christmas Markets - Day 2 Vienna

So, today I decided that I wanted to hit as many of Vienna's Christmas Markets as humanly possible.  However, since it is Saturday, I had to go back to the Nachsmarkt first.  So, back past the Arts Advent Weinachtsmarkt.  This time I came from a different direction, so I got a better angle on the whole place.

While I was walking between Karlsplatz and the Nachsmarkt, it started to snow.  This was big, clumpy snow, that didn't really stick and made everything wet.  It sure was pretty though.

It did stick a little to the roofs of the Nachsmarkt, so that was cool. It was just as busy as any other Saturday, but made twice as miserable due to the snowmelt drenching everything.

One part that was not as busy as the rest was the Saturday flea market. Most of the vendors were packing up.  I did find a coffee vendor selling pumpkin spice lattes.  That made my day.

Don't remember seeing this before, but you know I love me some Falco...

Next stop was the Christmas market at Maria Theresen Platz.  It was ridiculously busy.  I did manage to fight to a mug of gluwein though...
It was literally wall to wall humanity.  I did my round of the stalls and left for the next market...one of my favorites..
The Spittelburg Weinachtsmarkt is different because it isn't set in a large square, like most others.  It wanders down the lanes and back streets of this neighborhood.

It is easy to get kind of lost wandering around the cobblestone streets, but in a fun way, like a maze.

There is kind of a teeny tiny square in the middle of it...but it's not full of merchandise stalls, just food and drink.  Mostly drink.

I thought this was funny.  Moonshine in the middle of Vienna.

Being an absolute glutton for punishment, I decided to do the BIG ONE next, in the main town square in front of city hall.

Yes, it's still snowing ad there are still wall to wall humans.  I didn't get gluwein at this one, but I did buy chocolate and a Menner advent calendar...so I didn't suffer for nothing.

I just thought this was a pretty shot, so I'm sharing.

Proof I was there.  You can see that my hat is drenched by melted snow.

Here is one of my favorite Christmas trees.

I was going to walk to the next one, but I got turned around and decided to take the subway.  Google took me down this alley...but there was a station right around the corner...

Then we're at Stephensplatz with the cathedral and another market.'

I found my pumpkin soup in a breadbowl!  But my back was starting to hurt and I was tired.  I defrosted back in my room.  Gotta get up reasonably early, pack up and head to Linz!
