Bavaria Christmas Markets - Day 5 Nuremberg

I woke up late as the lack of a decent pillow made sleeping kind of difficult.  This means, I missed the free breakfast...again.   I'd been eating junk for days and my body was not pleased with me.  I decided I needed something healthy.  Google maps found me a place that served healthy porridge bowls well after normal breakfast hours...so off I went.

This was a gorgeous bowl of porridge with muesli, fresh fruits, and pistachio cream.  The coffee is also a pistachio latte and was also luscious.  I was so happy I found Auckland Coffee!  I felt quite a bit better after finishing my porridge.

Thus nourished, I decided to head back to the Christmas Market

And happily found it much less crowded

There were still plenty of people, but it wasn't to the point of the night before, where nobody could move

I happily circled around snapping random photos

I then decided to make good on my claim that I would have to break my almost 40 year streak of no red meat eating with Nuremburg Bratwurst.  There are actually 3 little bratwursts there, 2 hidden under all that kraut.  On a lovely, crusty, kaiser roll with a bit of mustard, it was worth the return of the tummy ache.

I then wandered around the corner where there were stalls that sold local goods.  I got a gluhwein here and sat on a bench to people watch for a bit.

After a bit, I decided to walk aimlessly around again and took some random photos

There were pedestrian areas with booths that weren't necessarily "markets" but there was plenty to see and buy

And some cool buildings

I soon ended up back at the old town and one of the towers along the wall

I went in the gate and ended up in what felt like a little historical village

with some cool shops, like this vintage toy store

a very atmospheric restaurant

another gate

I ended up finding one of my favorite Christmas Market treats, melted Raclette cheese on bread...yummy!

More cool buildings

Another random market

And I headed back to my hotel, past the first market I had visited
